Custom Biker Leather Jacket OEM: Specs, Hardware & MOQ

A biker jacket carries more engineering than it looks like it does — armor pockets, asymmetric zips, snap-adjustable waist tabs, and hardware that has to survive years of wind, weather, and vibration. This is the OEM spec sheet a moto apparel brand should walk into a sourcing conversation with.

Core Silhouette Decisions

Before hardware and armor, lock the silhouette: classic asymmetric moto cut, cafe racer straight-front, or a touring-style jacket with more length at the back for a riding position. Each changes panel count, seam placement, and how much stretch the shoulder and underarm need. Hashbloom International builds pattern blocks for all three starting points and grades them across a full adult size run.

Armor Pocket Placement & Construction

Shoulder and elbow armor pockets need their own reinforced opening, separate from the main body seam — this is the single most common failure point on a first production run when it is skipped. A properly built armor pocket has a bound or double-stitched opening, enough internal depth for CE-rated inserts, and a closure (usually a hidden snap or hook-and-loop tab) that keeps the insert from shifting during wear.

  • Reinforced, independently stitched armor pocket openings at shoulder and elbow
  • Internal pocket depth sized to standard CE Level 1/2 armor inserts
  • Snap or hook-and-loop closure to prevent insert migration
  • Back protector pocket option for touring and sport-touring styles

Hardware Sourcing

Hardware is where a cheap jacket reveals itself fastest. YKK or equivalent branded zippers with a reverse-coil or metal-tooth main zip, brass or gunmetal snap sets for waist adjustment tabs, and D-rings rated for the jacket's weight class are the baseline. Buyers should confirm hardware finish (matte black, brushed nickel, antique brass) matches the collection's hardware language across jackets, belts, and bags in the same drop.

MOQ, Sampling & Lead Time

Hashbloom International runs biker jacket OEM programs at a 50-piece MOQ per style and colorway. Sample production, including armor pocket and hardware fitting, takes 7–10 days once hide and hardware are confirmed. Bulk production runs 25–35 days from sealed sample approval, with DDP shipping available to the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, EU, and UAE.
